Anxiety is one of the most common mental health conditions, with many symptoms and expressions such as:

  • breath-holding
  • a feeling of panic or racing heart
  • phobias, a short temper
  • “butterflies” in the stomach
  • fidgeting and reaching for comforts like food or smokes

We all experience anxiety at times as a response to life events, but when anxiety becomes a default chronic state of mind, it can appear to take over our life.
